Nearly Half of Parents Say Kids Can’t Swim
With summer fast approaching, new survey data sounds alarming bells regarding junior swimming proficiency. Approximately 45% of parents with children under the age of 12 indicate their kids either cannot swim or possess only rudimentary aquatic competency, according to the 2023 Safety & Preparedness Poll conducted by the American Red Cross.

Just over one-quarter were deemed capable of merely splashing short spans relying mostly on beginner skills like basic paddling or doggy paddle techniques to simply stay buoyant.
